FLORIE ROTHENBERG



Florie Rothenberg, clarinetist, enjoys an active performing career in Seattle, playing with many concert and pit orchestras, includ ing the Auburn Symphony, Tacoma Symphony, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Tacoma Opera and the 5th Avenue Theater. Before settling in Seattle, she was a member of the Tucson Symphony and Ari zona Opera. Florie has worked in film scoring in Seattle and been involved in recording projects with the Rainier Chamber Winds, including Mozart’s Gran Partita, the first recording of Philip Glass’ 2nd Piano Concerto with Paul Barnes and the Northwest Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Ralf Gothoni, and with Gunnar Madsen (formerly of The Bobs) on his album Spinning World, which was heard on TV’s Sex and the City.

Splitting her time between performing and teaching, Florie Rothenberg works with clarinetists of all ages and levels, draw ing students from around the entire Puget Sound region. Florie has taught a variety of subjects including chamber music, music theory, and music fundamentals at the University of Arizona and the Hartwick College Summer Music Festival and Institute. She is currently on faculty at the University of Puget Sound Community Music Department, Music Works Northwest, and Woodwind Camp, a local summer music program.
