
Well known throughout his native Germany and in his adopted home of Los Angeles as a consummate composer & arranger for film, orchestras, and his Grammy-nominated Big Band, Chris Walden debuts his first Symphony, an exploration of the primal earth, fire, wind and water concepts, conducting the Hollywood Studio Symphony. Besides his recent Grammy nominations, Walden was honored last year by the American Society of Music Arrangers and Composers, and lauded for his ground-breaking Kurt Marti Suite (Origin 82482) for Big Band and 100-member St. John’s choir from Hamburg, Germany.

ORIGIN RECORDS at MIDEM 2010 - Cannes, France
The Origin Team has arrived in France to attend this year's MIDEM conference. There, they'll be meeting with many other industry professionals, and business leaders. The festival runs from January 23rd - 27th. Be sure to stay tuned for updates.
DANIEL BARRY IN NORTHERN ROMANIA
Composer Daniel Barry recently returned from the Maramures region of Northern Romania. He spent serveral days at the home studio of master Romanian singer and instrumenatlist Ioan Pop. "The rich tradition of Gypsy and Romanian folk music in this part of the world is very profound. It encomasses joy, pathos, banality, great beauty, serentity and frenzy, nearly all of the elements I'm looking for to continute my work."
COMPOSER DAN CAVANAGH WINS INTERNATIONAL COMPOSITION AWARD

Confronting Inertia, has been chosen as a Prize Winner by Greece's National Academy of Music during their 'International Music Prizes for Excellence in Composition 2009' competition, and awarded a Gold Medal of Distinction. The winners were announced at the Gala concert, at the Public Theater of Sykies in Thessaloniki, Greece.
